Every year, independent news sources, such as “Project Censored,” releases the top censored news stories at the year’s end. I’ve compiled my own personal list that I have dubbed “Top Cold Shouldered News Stories,” or even better, “The Top Reasons To Turn Off Your Television. Forever.”

These stories are either mentioned in the back pages of newspapers, quickly reported on network news (without giving the full story of course), or simply not mentioned on any mainstream media television, newspaper or internet news source.

A few of these stories my not raise more than a few to the more informed American, but one or two of these stories, if properly covered, would have made a large part of our country ignore the fact that Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan don’t wear panties on a daily basis and actually pay attention to reality.

US Government Funds Pakistani Extremists To Destabilize Iran

The US has been indirectly funding, consulting and and encouraging a group of radical Pakistani militants to carry out terrorist attacks to destabilize Iran and attack their Revolutionary Guard Corps, whom the Bush Administration has deemed a terrorist organization. The Jundullah, led by former Taliban fighter, Abd el Malik Regi, carried out the February 2007 bombing in Baluchistan that killed 11 Revolutionary Guards and wounded several civilians and numerous other attacks along the Pakistan-Iran border.

“Regi is essentially commanding a force of several hundred guerrilla fighters that stage attacks across the border into Iran on Iranian military officers, Iranian intelligence officers, kidnapping them, executing them on camera,” said Alexis Debat, a senior fellow on counter terrorism at the Nixon Center and an ABC News consultant.

Top Globalist Warns Congress of Provocation or Terrorist Attack Inside U.S. or Abroad

Former National Security Adviser and founding member of the Trilateral Commission Zbigniew Brzezinski tacitly warned a Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week that an attack on Iran could be launched following a staged provocation in Iraq or a false flag terror attack within the U.S.

Halliburton Moving C.E.O. From Houston to Dubai

Halliburton, the big energy services company, said on Sunday that it would open a corporate headquarters in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai and move its chairman and chief executive, David J. Lesar, there.

The company will maintain its existing corporate office here as well as its legal incorporation in the United States, meaning that it will still be subject to domestic laws and regulations. Although the announcement of the new Dubai arrangement took many by surprise, Halliburton said that the move was part of a strategy announced in mid-2006 to concentrate its efforts in the Middle East and surrounding areas, where state-owned oil companies represent a growing source of business.

Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani Employs Accused Pedophile Priest

Monsignor Alan Placa, a longtime friend of Republican presidential “front runner” Rudy Giuliani, remains employed at Giuliani Partner Inc. amid accusations of repeatedly sexually molesting at least three boys at his former parish. Monsignor Alan Placa, the priest who officiated at his second wedding to Donna Hanover Placa, stepped down from his duties at the Long Island Catholic diocese, but could not be prosecuted due to the expiration of statues of limitations.

Overwhelming Bi-Partisan Support For Draconian “Thought-Crime Bill”

A little-noticed anti-terrorism bill quietly making its through Congress is raising fears of a new affront on activism and constitutional rights. The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act was passed in an overwhelming 400 to 6 House vote last month. Critics say it could herald a new government crackdown on dissident activity under the guise of fighting terrorism.

Bombshell: 9/11 Cover-Up Unravelling

An astounding video uncovered from the archives today shows the BBC reporting on the collapse of WTC Building 7 over twenty minutes before it fell at 5:20pm on the afternoon of 9/11. The incredible footage shows BBC reporter Jane Standley talking about the collapse of the Salomon Brothers Building while it remains standing in the live shot behind her head. Minutes before the actual collapse of the building is due, the feed to the reporter mysteriously dies.

It should be noted that on 9/11, CNN also reported that WTC 7 fell before it did. Neither the British nor the American television networks have even attempted to address this shocking revelation let alone report the finding. An editor for the BBC online attempted to explain away the unexplainable by claiming that they were “not part of the conspiracy” (they admit there is a conspiracy) and that they no longer have the original tapes from September 11, 2001.

Yeah, OK.

In the years following the terrorist attacks, American and British mainstream media have run numerous news stories and hit pieces that portray those who don’t believe the government’s ridiculous explanation of 9/11 as crazy, tin foil hat wearers in need of medication. To coincide with the 6th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the History Channel even ran a broadcast called ‘9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction’, that unsuccessfully attempted to reinforce the official story of 9/11.

Air Force Investigates Mistaken Transport of Nuclear Warheads

The story of the Air Force transporting six nuclear warheads from
from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana sounds like it could have been lifted straight from a Tom Clancy novel, but once again, the media’s coverage stopped short at providing the complete story.

It was quietly reported by local media outlets that a number of suspicious deaths from soldiers and military personnel from the Minot Air Force Base happened within weeks of the nuclear warhead incident with no further investigation.

New Documents Suggest US Covered Up Israel’s 1967 Attack On The USS Liberty

Besides the extraordinarily honest Chicago Tribune article of Israel’s 1967 deadly attack on the USS Liberty, the mainstream media continues to cover up what could become a public relations disaster for the Government of Israel.

Survivors of the attack and family members of those who were killed have long maintained that the incident was covered up by the highest levels of our government. Others have gone on to say that the attack was intentional.

Operation: Topoff – The Largest Counter-Terrorism Exercise In US History

Portland residents and authorities were concerned when they learned their city would host the largest counter-terrorism exercise in US history, ‘Operation Topoff’. Local activist groups such, such as the Portland Truth Alliance attempted to bring as much attention to as possible to the drill in hopes that added scrutiny would prevent an the drill from somehow going ‘live’.

At some point during the drill, several bomb-sniffing dogs reacted to bomb residue in a vehicle belonging to one of the drill’s participants.

Judge Resets AIPAC Espionage Trial Date For April 29, 2008; Story Remains Buried

On May 23, 2005, the FBI filed criminal charges against Larry Franklin for passing disclosed classified national defense information to two member of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). CBS News broke the story on August 27, 2004, but since then, mainstream news reports remain scant, if altogether non-existent.

Crashed Gitmo Torture Jet Did Double Duty as a Cocaine Mule

On September 24, 2007, a Florida based Gulfstream II jet aircraft, number N987SA, crashed in the Yucatan. As it turns out, not only was the plane used on at least three CIA rendition flights from Europe and the United States to the Guantánamo torture chamber, but it was loaded with tons of cocaine when it went down.
